POINT OF VIEW

PHYSICO-CHEMICAL RESEARCH

13-22 186
Abstract

This study investigates the influence of the chemical nature, concentration, particle shape, pH of the dispersion medium, and various functional additives on the sedimentation and aggregative stability of mixed aqueous dispersions of methylphenylpolysiloxane resin and mineral powders (titanium dioxide, mica). The structural-rheological properties of such concentrated dispersed systems are examined. The experimental data obtained and the identified patterns form the basis for the development of a new water-dispersible heatresistant paint formulation.

CORROSION PROTECTION

23-28 112
Abstract

The assessment of the surface energy of coatings formed from a dispersion of polyvinyl acetate in the presence of anticorrosive pigments has been carried out. The effect of anticorrosive pigments on the stability of polymer dispersions has been investigated

Abstract

This paper examines the petroleum resistance of epoxy resin-based paint and varnish compositions for the production of coatings designed to protect the interior surfaces of pipelines operating in modern oil transportation environments. Optimal components for the production of a high-solid primer-enamel coating were selected. The properties of varnish compositions based on a phenalkamine hardener and an aminosilane hardener were studied, as well as their combination with active diluents of various functionalities — C12–14 alkyl glycidyl ether, alkylphenol monoglycidyl ether, and 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether—were also examined. The physical and mechanical properties of the resulting primer-enamel coating were also studied. The effect of fluoroplastic on increasing the coating's hydrophobicity was also examined.

POWDER MATERIALS

37-41 91
Abstract

A technological process and equipment for producing anti-corrosion coatings on large-diameter pipes have been developed. This process includes shot blasting and dust removal, induction heating, application of powder material, subsequent polymerization, and cooling of the finished coating. Approaches to developing equipment for a conveyor line for insulating large-diameter pipes have been proposed.

TEST METHODS

Abstract

The influence of both cold and hot curing modes on the specific volume resistance of coatings obtained from the organosilicate composition OS-51-03 and the KO-921 varnish was studied. Based on the obtained results, the possibility of using one of the parameters characterizing the electrophysical properties of coatings — specific volume resistance, as an indicator of the degree of curing of organosilicate coatings and the completion of this process is discussed.

PROCESSING OF POLYMERS AND COMPOSITES

49-62 78
Abstract

The summary overview of the range of resins with their characteristics available from Chinese manufacturers, potentially suitable for the manufacture of UV, LED and EB paint and varnish materials for painting rolled and sheet metals, metal products, is presented.
