CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGIES
In the practical experiments of this study, research was carried out on obtaining an acrylic-urethane copolymer with the participation of acrylic acid (acrylic monomer) and polyurethane (oligomer). In order to study the functional groups and chemical bonds present in the composition of this obtained copolymer, the main indicators of the infrared (IR) spectroscopy method was analyze. In addition, in the course of research, the focus was on the main physicochemical properties of the synthesized copolymer, the economic efficiency of its production. During the study, a copolymer was obtain with the participation of an acrylic (acrylate) monomer and a urethane oligomer, and its main physical capacitors and solubility properties were study.
TEST METHODS
A method for determining the amine hydrogen equivalent weight using differential scanning calorimetry has been developed. A series of differential scanning calorimetry experiments were conducted on amine hardeners of varying molecular architectures in case of method’s validation. The results demonstrate method’s applicability for hardeners which amine equivalent weight cannot be determined properly by traditional titration or spectroscopic methods. Additionally, a step-by-step analytical algorithm was established to streamline the characterization of such challenging hardeners. This method offers improved precision and expands the range of amines suitable for stoichiometric calculations in epoxy curing systems.
PROCESSING OF POLYMERS AND COMPOSITES
The advantages and disadvantages of using UV-curable paints and varnishes for protecting metal structures are studied. The types of film-forming substances for creating UV-curable coatings are considered. Research is conducted to study the physical, mechanical and protective properties of the developed materials: adhesive strength, elasticity and testing in a climatic chamber. The optimal technological composition of the UVcurable composition is established using 3D diagrams.
PHYSICO-CHEMICAL RESEARCH
The influence of metallic substrates on the conversion of functional groups and reactive ability centers, the structure and properties of materials based on UV-curable compositions has been studied and a significant influence of the types of metallic substrates on these parameters has been revealed. The influence of the presence of filler, anticorrosive and coloring pigments on the structure formation of polymer coatings and the properties of materials is shown.
