PROCESSING OF POLYMERS AND COMPOSITES

29-41 95
Abstract

The summary overview of the range of resins with their characteristics available from manufacturers on the international market, potentially suitable for the manufacture of UV, LED and EB paint and varnish materials for painting rolled and sheet metals, metal products, is presented.

CORROSION PROTECTION

43-48 72
Abstract

Core-shell magnesium manganite pigments were synthesized with brucite and microtalc serving as the particle cores. The effect of the core material on the technical and anti-corrosion properties of the studied pigments was investigated. A synergistic effect was observed when these pigments were used in mixtures for anti-corrosion coatings.

CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGIES

Abstract

The article presents the development of a technology for producing new high-adhesion protective coatings based on functionalized acrylic copolymers synthesized from a locally sourced nitrogen-containing oligomer and acrylic acid. The radical copolymerization process was carried out in the presence of redox initiators at a temperature of 60±2 °C and a pH value of 7.0–7.2. The formation of the macromolecular chain with the presence of carbonyl and amide groups was confirmed by FTIR spectroscopy. For the first time, in accordance with the international standard ISO 4589, the limiting oxygen index (LOI) of the synthesized copolymer was determined using a GD ISO 4589-1 digital tester, reaching 31.8%, which is 1.6 times higher than the performance of the industrial analogue (BMK-5). It was found that the pull-off adhesion strength of the coatings (ISO-4624) reaches 0.80 MPa, due to the formation of coordination bonds between the lone pairs of nitrogen atoms in the functional groups and the vacant d - orbitals of the metal surface. It is shown that the developed technology allows reducing the drying time of the coating to degree 3 according to GOST 19007-73 from 24 to 16 hours. The research results serve as a scientific and technical basis for the creation of import-substituting, flame-retardant, and high-adhesion anticorrosion protective coatings.
