PROCESSING OF POLYMERS AND COMPOSITES
This study focuses on the formulation and processing technology for creating decorative-functional flakes (chips) based on a perchlorovinyl resin, designed as a component for epoxy floor coatings. The formulation and technological parameters ensuring the formation of chips combining decorative and functional properties have been established. The research demonstrates that incorporating these flakes into the uncured epoxy polymer matrix results in a polyfunctional modifying additive. This additive imparts the desired decorative effect while simultaneously enhancing the physical-mechanical properties and reducing the flammability of the resulting floor coatings.
This article describes the operating conditions, selection criteria, and requirements for paint and coating materials used for equipment and structures of a subsea production system. The main types of coating systems employed are listed, along with their specific applications, considering the equipment's location and environmental conditions. Detailed information is provided on the scope of testing conducted to qualify a material for its intended service. The key stages and specifics of the coating application technology qualification process are described. Based on global and domestic experience in offshore field development, current trends for improving paint and coating materials are identified. The article is intended for specialists in research and development organizations involved in the development and testing of paint and coating materials.
PRODUCTS AND RESEARCH
This work is devoted to the development of formulations for organosoluble carbon black mono-pigment colorant pastes. The influence of the type and concentration of dispersing agents on the properties of the semi- finished paint product is shown. The optimized pigment paste possesses the required stability and meets the specifications for this type of colorant paste. It is fully compatible with white organosoluble base enamels.
CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGIES
This article reports on investigation of sodium silicate positive impact on the polyvinyl acetate dispersion. It is established by the authors that water-resistance of the obtained from polyvinyl acetate dispersion polymer body increases. The contact adhesiveness and thixotropy of the glues increase too.
CORROSION PROTECTION
A correlation has been established between the results of testing the anticorrosive properties of paint coatings using widely used electrochemical methods and electrochemical noise measurements. It is concluded that the latter method, which does not require external influence on the investigated system, is promising for evaluating the protective properties of coatings.
EVENTS
ENGINEERING
The presented article describes an integrated approach to the design of flexible multi-assortment chemical and technological systems for the production of coatings. The structural and hardware flexibility of production systems makes it possible to find options adequate to the range of manufactured coatings, taking into account the interests of the end user. The block-modular design of the technological scheme of paint and varnish production is focused on creating a production scheme from standard technological equipment, which reduces the time and economic costs of the enterprise, as well as optimally reengineering business processes in the existing production.
